It was one of those days when you did not know whether it was going to rain or not.  It was cloudy when we left Radcliffe and it was cloudy when we arrived in Skipton at 11am.  We had about one hour and three quarters before we had to congregate at the canal side for our one hour trip along the Leeds and Liverpool canal.  Some used that time to have a bit to eat or a drink.  There are plenty of cafes in Skipton but we used the refectory in Holy Trinity parish church where refreshments were served and snacks such as jacket potatoes.

Boarding the boat just before 1pm we were blessed by the sun breaking through the clouds.  This made our canal trip very pleasant and we enjoyed the passing countryside as well as the commentators history of Skipton through the ages.  Well done Skip Boat Trips.

Arriving back in Skipton we had another two hours before we rejoined the coach for our journey home. Some spent this time browsing around the shops or the Saturday market which lined the High Street.  Others took the chance to visit Skipton Castle.  We arrived home about 6.30pm.

Thank you everyone who supported this outing and thank you for the positive feedback.  Thank you also Steve our driver for the smooth journeys both to and from Skipton. In total we raised £532 towards the roof repairs and re-roofing.  All we have to do now is decide where we are going next spring. Martin Skeffington

Annual Meeting 2016

St Mary's Annual Meeting took place on Sunday 10th April as part of our Sunday morning worship.

Annual Report and Financial Statements for 2015

On Saturday 24 October a trip has been arranged to go to Whitby via Pickering and the North Yorkshire Moor's Railway.  Hopefully having set off from Radcliffe at 8.30am we shall arrive in Pickering in good time to catch the 12 noon train to Whitby. We should then have some time in the resort in time to meet the coach around 4pm to bring us back home.  We are praying for good weather and plenty of autumn colour as we travel along this popular heritage railway.

Annual meeting and reports

This year's meeting took place on Sunday 12th April at 10.45am in St Mary's Church.
