On the morning of Dec. 4th St Mary's Church was filled with people coming to Holy Communion to worship and to spend time with Rev'd Graeme and Judy, following the service. There was a spirit of thanksgiving and celebration for everything they have brought into the lives of people in this community and in Shelford, over the past 7½ years. This was tinged by genuine sadness at their departure to Holy Trinity, Coventry, where Rev'd Graeme takes up his new role at the beginning of January.
Graeme and Judy have brought true friendship and fellowship to this Benefice expressed in their openess and warmth. Their willingness to reach out into all areas of the villages has gone far beyond the extra miles of commitment, hard work, energy, deep Christian compassion and sincere love.
From their arrival at the Vicarage, their home became both one of immediate welcome and hospitality. With the addition of their dog, Willow, the parish also welcomed 9 puppy bundles of fun and games, not to mention rocketing sales of mops, buckets and dog food. The house became the only one in the Diocese as overall home to 11 Dog collars; a definite record breaking situation.
And from surprise beginnings we have never failed to be led on an adventure of discovery, learning to understand the new horizons which God has revealed over time, both in our corporate lives and as individuals. Under Rev'd Graeme's unique ministry we have been encouraged to 'think outside the box' and to act with the same love as Jesus teaches us, loving one another as He loves us. Graeme and Judy's ministry together has been based on prayer and a great willingness to serve God here; their unselfish generosity, corporate leadership, enthusiasm and energy has led to the growth of God's Kingdom, leading many folk, both young and old, to find Jesus as their personal Saviour…….the greatest treasure of His Love and death for every person.
They will be deeply missed, as was evident whilst we said our farewells through smiles and tears. We prayed and continue to pray for their ministry together in Coventry and look forward to hearing news of their inner city parish, so different from this one in structure and size. With every blessing
and heartfelt thanks, we are assured by God's promises that He will be with them always and know they journey onwards in His power and strength wherever that journey shall lead.
You are very warmly invited to Rev Graeme's final service as our Vicar:

After seven happy years of ministry here, Graeme and his wife Judy are leaving us for Graeme to become Vicar of Holy Trinity Coventry.
Graeme’s ministry and presence along with Judy and their dog Willow, has had a positive and significant impact in our villages. We are sad they are leaving and will miss them very much.
We would love as many as possible to join us for Rev Graeme’s final service as Vicar of Radcliffe and Shelford with Newton on
