St Mary's Radcliffe on Trent

Working in love to glorify God
and proclaim Jesus Christ as Saviour

Please pray this week for own churches and communities.  We pray that the changes proposed by St. Mary’s PCC lead to more people coming to Jesus. We pray that our community of Radcliffe on Trent sees St. Mary’s as a vibrant and exciting place to worship.  We also pray that our sister church St. Peter & St. Paul’s Shelford grows to meet the spiritual needs of its own community.

Please would you fill the form in as soon as you can, so that we can continue to keep in touch with you. It can be completed on paper and handed in at church or done online on . Thank you so much for your help with this. SCHOOL OF DISCIPLINE: Real LIFE - Later this year the diocese is preparing to launch its School of Discipleship under the leadership of the Rev’d Dr David Emerton The School will exist ‘to grow disciples who grow disciples’, helping both to realize the wider diocesan vision for Growing Disciples wider, younger and deeper and to assist in releasing the local church to continue growing towards complete maturity in Christ.

To this end, and beginning in September 2018, the School of Discipleship will be offering a diocesan-wide discipleship course called Real LIFE, designed to envision, empower and equip God’s people in making the life-long journey of following-after Christ.

David says, “The summons to follow-after Jesus and into real life lies at the heart of what it is to be a disciple.  To respond to this summons and to make this journey is a life-long and exhilarating process possible only in and through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Discovering what this summons means and how this journey is marked is central therefore to the identity of both the School of Discipleship and the Real LIFE discipleship course.  If we are people who seek to live and move and have our being such that we are captivated and compelled by Jesus, and by Jesus alone, then the Real LIFE discipleship course is perhaps for us.”

To find out more about Real LIFE and what the course will entail, join David Emerton and Richard Kellett, Director of Discipleship & Ministry, at ‘A Discipled Life’ – an evening designed to give you a feel for what Real LIFE looks like.

Rachel will be taking a St. Mary’s group to St Nic’s Nottingham on Wednesday 23rd May 2018. These taster evenings are open to all and will start at 7:30pm and finish by 9:30pm.  If you are interested, please let Rachel know.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK - With the approach of lighter evenings, it can only mean that Christian Aid Week is on the horizon. This year it's Sunday 13th May until Saturday 19th May, and as usual we are desperate for house-to-house collectors.  Between us, we usually manage to collect an amazing £5000, reduced last year owing to lack of collectors.   We collect from many people who would not send in a donation, but are willing to put a gift into the envelope on the doorstep.  Please consider whether you can help this year, now matter how few houses you can cover - an hour or two of your time can make a huge difference to those in great need.  More info. from, and offers of help to, Yvonne Ellison, This email address is being protected from spambots.
