Please pray this week for the elderly, the lonely, the disabled including the blind and partially sighted, the deaf, partially or profoundly. Please pray for those who have a problem with the mind due to depression, schizophrenia, for those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease and all similar conditions.  Please pray also for their carers.

CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH - Planning is underway for the Christmas Day Lunch in the Church Hall and separate flyers are available in Church for you to offer your help, a donation or catering supplies for the day. CTR CHRISTMAS CARDS - St. Mary’s share of CTR Christmas Cards for delivery by members of the 4 churches in Radcliffe to every house in Radcliffe are at the back of church. Please take the ones, which you can deliver. The earlier the better – Carols at the Grange is advertised in the card - 18th December. EASY FUNDRAISING – Don’t forget that if any of you would like to help with fundraising for St. Mary’s without any cost to yourself please use the link below. There are lots of on line stores, hotel booking sites and travel firms which participate and by doing this you will be helping your church.  Since starting we have raised nearly £90. It’s so simple.

LINK MAGAZINE DISTRIBUTOR REQUIRED - We are in need of a volunteer to take over the monthly delivery of LINK magazines on Blakeney Road & Woodland Close, a total of 19 magazines. WOOL ODMENTS - Radcliffe Charity Knitters are in need of wool! Their last strands have now been used up, so they would be delighted to have any that you don’t need, whatever its age or ply.  Please put in box at back of church. Julia Hancock.


ST. PETER & ST. PAUL’S CHRISTMAS FAYRE  - Shelford’s Christmas Fayre is on Sunday 17th December between 10.00am and 12.00 noon.  There will be stalls, children’s bran tub, face painting and Splat the Rat, to keep the children entertained and coffee/tea and cake for everyone to enjoy. It will take place in the village hall. Penny Oldham


THE RADCLIFFE SHEEP TRAIL - The Radcliffe sheep are about to be let out once again and their shepherd will be looking for them soon!  Calling all children to help find them!  For those not familiar with the Sheep Trail, 12 knitted sheep are residing in village shops and you are invited to find them and to identify them on the entry form which is available at Lesley Cree Opticians, the Library and at One Way Club. Post your entries in the box at either Lesley Cree or the library, by Saturday 16th December and the winners will be announced at the Carols at the Grange on Monday 18th December. There are prizes for the correct entries, which will be drawn out of a hat. Any queries, please contact Mary Walker. Happy hunting!!

FRAMEWORK CAROL SERVICE – For those of you interested there will be a carol service in Southwell Minster on Friday 8th December 2017 beginning at 7.00pm. Music will include the Minster Choir performing a new song specially written to raise funds for Framework: Reach Out and Lend a Helping Hand was created by local musician Chris Lawry with inspiration from singer Andrew Randell and pupils at Kirkby Woodhouse Primary School. For information on the song, to purchase a CD or access materials to perform it please visit  A collection will be taken in aid of their work helping local people in need.


QUIZ -The 2017/8 quiz, in aid of St Mary’s roof fund, will be available from Mary Dawdry in church on Sunday mornings. Price £1.00 per copy. This year the topic is Food and Drink, something you all know about!  Mary Dawdry.


CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL - The 10th Christmas Tree Festival at Newark Parish Church with take place between the 2nd and 10th December. Over 100 trees are expected which will be decorated by local schools, organisations, charities & businesses. Opening times: Saturdays: 9.30am – 5.00pm; Sundays: 11.00am - 4.30pm; Monday: 11.00am – 4.30pm; Tuesday - Friday: 10.00am - 4.30pm. Entrance:- Adults £2.00, Children 50p. There are Refreshments, Seasonal Music, Christmas cards, Raffle, and Stalls. A Festival Carols of Praise will take place 10th December at 5.00 pm.
