Heavenly Father we continue to pray for those countries in Africa and the Middle East suffering from famine. We pray for Somalia, Yemen, South Sudan and Northern Nigeria where famine is exacerbated by fighting. We pray where this fighting is due to different ethnic groups as in South Sudan that these groups can reconcile their differences and come together in peace. In Northern Nigeria, Somalia and Yemen where the fighting is based on religion that the fighters reflect on what God really wants and not what they believe He wants. Our God is a loving God and we do not believe that he wants all this fighting. We pray that these people turn to Christ. We pray for the doctors and medics who are using all their skills to save those suffering from malnutrition. We pray for the aid agencies, which struggle to find enough food to feed these people. And finally we pray that those countries of the world where prosperity is the norm will find it in their hearts to help out with food and medical supplies.

PRAYING FOR OUR NEW VICAR – Although the advertisements have been placed and the Parish profile is on the internet we still need to pray that the right person applies, fulfilling both our needs and those of our Bishop Paul. Interview day will take place during Wednesday 19th April in St. Mary’s Hall. There will be no Coffee Pot on that day. A reminder to this effect will be placed in Pews News closer to the time.
ST MARY’S APCM - St Mary's Annual Parochial Church Meeting 2017 will be held on Monday 10th April at 7.30 pm. Please make a note of this in your diaries. Fresh blood brings new ideas and often a renewed enthusiasm in any organisation. The time leading up to the annual meeting provides a perfect opportunity for you to consider what you could bring to the mission of St Mary's by joining the PCC or becoming a Churchwarden. At the meeting we elect 12 ordinary members members of the PCC and 2 Churchwardens (both Dave Townsend and Sue Megahy are willing to stand again). Please speak to me, Dave or Sue if you'd like to know more. Harry Hughes PCC Secretary
ELECTORAL ROLL - A revision of the Electoral Roll is currently taking place in readiness for St Mary’s Annual Parish Council Meeting on Monday 10th April. If you are not on the Electoral Roll and would like to be added to it, please complete one of the forms on the notice board at the rear of the church by Sunday 2nd April. You need to be on the Roll in order to vote at the APCM or if you wish to be nominated for PCC membership. If you are not sure whether or not you are already on the Roll, you can check by referring to the current copy of the Roll (also on the notice board) or contact Carol Payne, Electoral Roll Officer.
MOTHERING SUNDAY - On Mothering Sunday 26th March there will be an All Age Holy Communion at 10.30am. Messy church families will be joining that service and then going to church hall for usual lunch after the service at approx. 11.45am. There is no All Age Worship on 19th March. Sue Megahy
ST. MARY’S COACH TRIP – The coach is now full.
LENTEN ADDRESSES – A year ago set myself a small task of preparing a series of special addresses for the Tuesday services of Holy Communion during the five weeks of Lent. Fishers of Men
Listen to the Wind – Nicodemus
What thine Ye of Christ
A True Saying
The River and the Sea
Rev’d Canon Alan Haydock

ALL AGED EASTER TRAIL DAY - Wednesday 12th April St Mary’s Hall
The event is a "Christian's Together in Radcliffe" venture and will be on similar lines to Messy Church or the "Shine the Light" party. There will be a repeating programme:-
10am - 12,30 Lunch Break 1pm - 3.30
People can drop in and out at any time and we suggest that a packed lunch be brought if families wish to stay over and catch anything they missed. All children need to be accompanied by a responsible adult but we also need people willing to oversee a craft or activity, not necessarily for the whole time. The planning team have already come up with lots of ideas. It is hoped that you as parents may be able to team up with someone else to share parental responsibility and also offer your help for a limited period. Cori Cryer & Helen Roberts
NOTTINGHAM STREET PASTORS - Lynda Blakeley of Nottingham Street Pastors has been invited to speak on Thursday 23rd March at 7.30pm at St. Anne’s Church, New Road about their work in Nottingham.
